Hi! It’s me! Janet :)

I’m a career Executive Assistant (EA) who loves what I do, and I’m here to simply share my experiences with anyone interested in learning more about the EA world.

If you want to read about stories that will make your EA experiences feel normal, or read about tips I’ve learned over the years that might resonate with you, or learn from my mistakes, or laugh because you totally know what I’m talking about, then you’ve come to the right place :)

Here’s a little bit of my background so you know who’s behind these words.

I’ve been an Executive Assistant for over 16 years. A big chunk of who I am today is because of my experiences at a tech company called Dropbox. I started there as employee number 80ish, and left 7 years later when the company was around 2,000.

I started out supporting one person, but over the 7 years, I ended up having supported around 45 executives (almost all of the C-suite including CEO and Co-founder), VPs, managers, leads on an interim basis - meaning, I had my one executive who was my manager, but everyone else I supported because I was covering maternity leaves, last minute VP hires who came with no EA, covering for EAs who quit abruptly, etc.

Many of the people I supported ended up leaving Dropbox and starting their own companies. And when I left, many of them reached out to me (and still do) asking me for help with projects and vetting/hiring EAs for them. I was able to start my own company doing project work for all these people I’ve supported before, and it’s been an exciting journey since.

Currently, I work at a company called Clubhouse, where I am fortunate to work with some amazing people (which is a huge deal for me) and I get to work autonomously (also a big deal) doing what I love doing.

Would love if you’d subscribe! I promise I won’t disappoint :) Or actually maybe I shouldn’t make promises like that. But you get what I mean. I’ll do my best to make it kinda fun and interesting to read.
